1:18PM - Pick Up line

Finished this a little while ago.

I was kind of hitting a block over what pick up line to use.

Originally the guy was going to be a alot more physically drunk, and the line would have been something like "Can I pour my beer on your tits and stick the bottle up your twat?"

But then I remembered all the Baby pick up lines Luke came up with years ago.

So I opted for the cutest one of all.

Photobucket

and this is the remix version with a different lighting method. I like the Colors better in the first one, but the overall mood/setting is alot better in the next one. It looks like they are actually in a bar. The only downside is that all the hard work I put onto the background chairs, their shoes and pants is kind of lost.

11:58AM - Coloring Practice

just finished this piece at 4am. Last night.....or this morning. Well the period of time before I got 3 hours of sleep before going to work at 8am. Take from that what you will.

Up till now, all my work has been my own. I've only colored/painted my own pencil work. So I thought it was time to try painting someone else's work.

Photobucket

And here's the pencils & the painted versions side by side.

Photobucket

Overall I think it came out okay. I had to make some changes since the pencils were extremlly detailed, and it was quite overwhelming to get everything in. I think my biggest mistakes were the hand (too big), the eyebrows/lashes (too thick), and the general colors don't really go together (the blade is too dark, the skin is too bright, and the hair to too pale).
I choose this peice to paint because the pencils allready designated the lights and shadows, so I figured it would be less for me to screw up since my eye for lighting needs alot of work. I still made a few mistakes, but this piece kind of confirms for me that in general I'm more of a colorist then a penciler.

3:22AM - Current Art

Haven't posted here in a while. Here's just a bunch of my latest art attempts. I'm still fine turning my rendering techniques, but I think I finally have progressed far enough where I can confidently say that this will now be my set art style.

12:44AM - The many steps of art shortened to the top 3

The true first step was a conceptional sketch I did in my small sketch pad with the basic idea of the image.

From there I did a larger version in my main sketch pad which you can see below. If I had done traditional hand inks, (as I did for alot of my earlier work) this stage would be alot tighter, more detailed, and overall a far superior image. This is a very bare bones skeleton. Unacceptable for hand inking, and also a taboo if I were to give it to someone else to ink or color. But the benefit of being your own colorist and inkist means you can cut corners. At this level of art, the finer details are just easier to do much later.

That image is then scanned on to my computer, opened up in Corel Draw, and using my expensive Wacom tablet, I do the inking directly on the computer. Normally I would ink the lineart black, but for the look I'm going for, I take the grueling and time consuming task of coloring in my lineart. Earlier works I attempted this after airbrushing which I learned is a big mistake. It may look simple at this point, but its quite time consuming. After the base lines are done, I color inside them. This is the stage refered to as flat colors. The only real rements of the line work that exist in the characters is the slightly darker shad of the skin tone used to design the nose, facial features, and seperation of fingers. This also applies to things like pants. Its kind of optional, because that can all be done in the next step, but this way makes it easier to remember where the lines are.

Then step 3, the most time consuming of all steps. I open the Corel Draw file into its sister program, Corel Photo Paint, and proceed with days of airbushing (it probablly wouldn't take so long if I wasn't so easily distracted). Almost every base color used I created a darker and a lighter variation for shadows and highlights, and using the base color with a high opacity level on the airbrush tool, I am able to create the blended look. This is also where I add in the most details, and fix minor problems, like the drunk dudes hands, and the short girls lips. I also shade the background and pretty much everything you see in the final image. This stage is very similar to actual painting, (at least from the ass backwards way I did it)

And behold the final image.

1:40AM

Wow, I just got the new Linkin Park Album. What a dissapointment.

Its like they decided to go the same route paved by Hoobastank (another great dissapointment) and over emphasies the soft and slow ballads. There are maybe 2-3 songs that sound like Linkin Park. The rest are a complete departure. I know its important for a band to "experiement", and "grow", but its like they forgot the reason people even liked them in the first place.

Such a shame. And it took 4 years for such crap.

4:54AM - BEHOLD! THE "CUMLAGE!"

Get it.... Cum + Collage = Cumlage......well I thought it was cute.

As for the gangbang strip, I like how it turned out. There are a few parts I don't like, like the inclustion of Cum streaks in the Background seperating all the sex acts. I now realize that Cum is not easy to draw. And coloring it is a problem when the character who is supposed to be covered in it is the same base color as it. And with my Chapter 3 "All Gradiant" style of coloring, it was not an easy feat. But overall I think its one of my best strips yet. And I'm just glad I found a way to do it without drawing any male parts.

But I can see all the non-perverted fans collectivly going, "How the hell does this advance the plot?"

3:52PM - DAMNIT! CAMDEN LOST

Shit, Camden is no longer the most dangerous City in the US

St. Louis has that honor now.

____________________________________________________________
St. Louis Named Most Dangerous U.S. City
By CHRISTOPHER LEONARD, Associated Press Writer
6 hours ago

The St. Louis Gateway Arch is part of the ...
ST. LOUIS - A surge in violence made St. Louis the most dangerous city in the country, leading a trend of violent crimes rising much faster in the Midwest than in the rest of nation, according to an annual list.

The city has long fared poorly in the rankings of the safest and most dangerous American cities compiled by Morgan Quitno Press. Violent crime surged nearly 20 percent in St. Louis from 2004 to last year, when the rate of such crimes rose most dramatically in the Midwest, according to FBI figures released in June.

"It's just sad the way this city is," resident Sam Dawson said. "On the news you hear killings, someone's been shot."

The ranking, being released Monday, came as the city was still celebrating Friday's World Series victory at the new Busch Stadium. St. Louis has been spending millions of dollars on urban renewal even as the crime rate climbs.

Mayor Francis Slay did not return calls to his office seeking comment Sunday.

Scott Morgan, president of Morgan Quitno Press, a private research and publishing company specializing in state and city reference books, said he was not surprised to see St. Louis top the list, since it has been among the 10 most dangerous cities for years.

The study looks at crime only within St. Louis city limits, with a population of about 330,000, Morgan said. It doesn't take into account the suburbs in St. Louis County, which has roughly 980,000 residents.

Visiting St. Louis on Thursday, FBI director Robert Mueller said it was too early to tell why some types of crime were rising faster in the Midwest.

Mueller said the FBI is working harder to form partnerships with police departments to launch programs like St. Louis' Safe Streets task force, which focuses police efforts on problematic neighborhoods.

The safest city in 2005 was Brick, N.J., with a population about 78,000, followed by Amherst, N.Y., and Mission Viejo, Calif. The second most dangerous city was Detroit, followed by Flint, Mich., and Compton, Calif.

The bad news for St. Louis was good for Camden, N.J., which in 2005 was named the most dangerous city for the second year in a row.

Camden Mayor Gwendolyn Faison said Sunday she was thrilled to learn that her city no longer topped the most-dangerous list.

"You made my day!" said Faison, who has served since 2000. "There's a new hope and a new spirit."

Cities are ranked based on more than just their crime rate, Morgan said. Individual crimes such as rape or burglary are measured separately, compared to national averages and then compiled to give a city its ranking. Crimes are weighted based on their level of danger.

The national FBI figures released in June showed the murder rate in St. Louis jumped 16 percent from 2004 to 2005, compared with 4.8 percent nationally. The overall violent crime rate increased nearly 20 percent, compared with 2.5 percent nationally.

While crime increased in all regions last year, the 5.7 percent rise in the 12 Midwestern states was at least three times higher than any other region, according to the FBI.

11:18PM - Last Time I Eat Italian

ugh, damn you Luke

Here I am coming home from school, and I'm hungry as always.

Equally as always, there is nothing to eat at home.

I thinking, hmm Sushi, Chinese, White Diamond, Muscle Grill, or Fast food. My usually choices for Grub on the go.

It was brought to my attention that a former 3rd rate childhood pizzaria went under a massive renovation, and now has "Unbelieavabley Good Calimari"

Noramlly, I dislike Italian food, but I figured it may be worth a shot. The place looked nice, more like a NYC restaurant then a Jersey one.

I ordered the Regular Calimari, and the Ginger Calimari. The latter of which was also given great praise.

As they handed me the To-go bag, The smell was great. I figured Calimari that smelled this good had to taste just as good.

Apparantly the smell must have been from something else they were cooking, cause when I got home, the smell had disipated.

I opened the warm to-go bag with my eyes gleering at the rich fried ringed gold I was about to consume.

YUCK AS FUCK

I know my adoration of Oz is starting to sound like a broken record, with what 8 months being back here,

BUT THIS IS NOT CALIMARI.

Calimari is an art. Its so easy to fuck it up, and they did. They even Fried it bad.

Granted its not as bad as the crap the Westfield diner would serve as calimari, but it pales in comparrison to the Calimari at the Galaxy Diner, and doesn't even qualify as the same food when compared to aussie Calimari.

I then tried the Ginger hopeing that would provide salvation, and of course I was forsaken.

Equally bad, more flavor, but the flavor tasted like crap.

The fucking tomatoes they put on it looked more appealing for shit shake.

So the moral of the story is, I will never take advice about Art ever again.

And if anyone wants the disgusting Calimari, I threw it in my neighbors back yard. Maybe it will finally kill that SOB dog of theirs.

2:45PM - Pat is gonna kill me

I just started going over act 1, and organizing it, and doing the word balloons and shit.

This is probablly the worst (as in taste) comic I've ever did.

And boy o boy, will Pat enjoy the implications this comic would present.

I hate the logo though. Its my 8th try, and I still hate it.

12:45AM - Comic Update

Well, school starts tommorow, and I'm a little dissapointed in myself as far as the comic goes.

I had Act 1 finished a week before the last semester let out. So I had about 1-month to work on the comic. And I was so driven to finish Act 2 before the next semester started. Each act will be around 20-25 strips, Act 1 is done, and I only finished 6 of act 2, and have the layouts for one more. There are some benefits though, I did avoid most of the art mistakes I made with act #1.

With Act 1, I did each process more in steps. Like I would take 2 weeks to draw the equivlant of 10 strips, and then take the next 2-3 weeks to color them. I also drew them more panel based, because for what ever reason I though it would be easier to put the panels into strips after the fact. I sat down one day and tried to create the finished Strips for Act 1, and it was a nightmare. More so the problem delt with the pain in the ass called doing backgrounds and placing word balloons, as well as the size and dimensions of the panels just didn't flow well together.

So realizing my folly, I decided to this time, Draw the entire Strip, so once its colored and shaded, I won't have to re-arange everything. And if it doesn't look good in the layout stage, I can just erase it before putting all that time and effort into it.

I also decided to do the strips completely one at a time. Instead of clocking out 12 peniled pages at a time, and then taking the time to color all 12 of them, I am now penciling one, then coloring it, shading it, and pretty much finishing it before even working on the next one. With Act #1, doing 2-3 weeks of none stop coloring drove me crazy. This way I get breaks between each step. It also prevents some panels/strips from sitting around uncolored because I decided to do everything else first. Bottom line, all I have to really do is just add the word ballons and logos and shit, and its ready to be uploaded to a website. (another task I have to now learn to do)

A few weeks back, I used a few online tutorials to try and make some things easier. I tried switching programs. I ditched Corel initially, and tried Paint Shop Pro. And it was a failure. I hate the whole concepts of layers. I can see how it could make the background a hell of alot easier, and highlights as well, but it took way too much time to do it that way.

But I came to a artistic realization. I used to just deeply darken in the art with pencils, then I scanned it in at 200 dpi Black and white, and after I colored it (curtosty of the paint bucket tool, no masking for me), the line work was disgracefull, so using a line tool, I them went over the line work. Which did make the art alot nicer, but gave the art an angular kind of look, and the lines looked rather heavy.

Now, after I pencil the comic, I Ink it by hand, which makes the scanned copy alot cleaner, and I scan it in at 600 dpi black and white. then I colored it, and shaded it. But the line work still looked horid. Then I reduced the image to 25%, and, oh my god, the line work is perfect. So now my art will look signifcantly better, and it takes less time because the I don't have to go over all the lines on the computer.

It also looks alot better when compressed by JPEG

Honestly, I uesd to look at my work on Act 4 and frown on it compared to Act #1.

Now I frown on Act #1. If I didn't put so much effort into it, I would redo it to look more like act #2. But now, I'm deffinitly going to completely redo Act #4 from scratch. It would be emabarassing to have the art go from Good, to Great, and then to Crap.

and without further ado, here are the 6 strips I finished (no wording yet though)

There are still some problems, namely the backgrounds, which I'm working on, and they do kind of get better as they go.

3:07AM - Plan for Niggs

Instant idea just popped into my head.

I was doing my first panel that had all 6 clowns in it, and I came upon a great idea. Working with a cast this large is a problem with some parts. So, if I could temporarilly reduce their numbers, it would make some parts a little easier. As great as Australia is, the overbearing um,, White color does bring to it, racism.

In Act 2, A combination of the intense heat, and jet lag, will result in Niggs falling alsleep on the street.

Where he is robbed of his bling bling, but he fell asleep outside of a vandalized church, which in my story, will be the meeting ground for the Australian KKK, who then abduct niggs.

I'm running it thru my head how far I should take this.

Keep it a short subplot that will only run for acts 2&3, or should I make it more long term, lasting untill Act 6.

Maybe they will try to take Sumtingwong too, since he is Asian, which would leave me with just 4 Caucasian white clowns.

I'll probablly just go for the short sub plot, otherwise it may complicate the rest of the story in acts 5 & 6.

1:59AM - I found my Death

Comic Update

Act #1 - The art and dioloque is all complete, all I have to do is arrange it all. It will come out to around 22 strips. My comic is more story based, so there won't be a self contained joke or idea in all strips. Most online comics do that becuase it enables the 1st strip to stand on its own. I tired it, but it just got in the way of the story, maybe if it was a more diolquge centered comic, but I like the action and art to play just as big a role. For that reason, when I launch the comic (which at the pace I'm going is still months away)I'll probally make the first 5 or 6 strips avaliable so people can get something more out of it. The first strip is more expositon, but the 2nd strip is the Van Goghs coffee house bombing, that kind of stands on its own, but I'll still give a few extra ones.

Act #2 - While I have at best 4 exparimental panels done of my former brisbane housemates, I'm doing something differnt here.

With Act #1, I pretty much just made an outline of what would happen, and came up with the actual diolque after the art was done. I thought that would make things easier, but in the long run, nope, so for Act #2, I'll write everything first, then do the art. Hopefully It will make things easier.

And on that note, I wrote all of Act 2 this evening. Its longer then act 1, it will probablly end up being 30-40 strips, because there are some action oriented parts, and I really can't figure out how to fit them all in one strip, so I'll do the art and then devide the panels up. Or I could just update once that week with a really long strip.

Anyway, while I have and will continue to give friends and people I know cameos in the comic, I figured it would be in good faith to give myself a Cameo as Reese and have the clowns kill me.

I knew where I would die, I knew why I would die, and I knew what would lead up to it and what would happen after it, but the actual impliment of death I couldn't decide on.

Then I did a google search and found a list of ways to kill Bill Gates. And I found the perfect death for me.

Mistaken for a Pinata

the second I saw that I knew it had to be it, and it acctually fits neatly into my story too.

That will be a fun little death scene, and if it turns out bad, I can still off myself as RJ when the clowns come back to Jersey.

in other Comic news, Before I did act #1, I acctually penciled 75% of Act 4 in Australia, and I colored it over the summer when I came back. I havne't changed the story too much, so the pencils still stand, but ,,, over the past couple of months, my proficany with the coloring program as far as coloring, touching up line work, and shading has drasticlly improved.

Heck, look at these two renderings of Niggs, One I did last September, and one I did this December.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The second one looks dreadful in comparison. And the finished panels for Act #4 look pretty simmilar to the dreadful one. So I may scrap what I did and redo it, but I'll wait till I have Act #3 done before coming to a final descion.

And speaking of which, for Act #3 I was going to use the Glasshouse Mountain Desire and Disaster Story I did months ago, but I can't even look at it anymore, its just so ugly, thankfully my art drasticlly got alot better, but I may hold on to it for a latter date. After the Aussie story is done there is another story I would like to do, but I'll do the same size buffer of strips finished before released. In which case there will be a gap of time between comics, so I'll probablly release those early crap comics I did as a "what could have been" after the main comic is finished

1:25AM - Another Great Day at Crowne Plaza

The below summary is the nightmare that occured this past Friday Night at my Job at the Crowne Plaza

I wrote this Friday, but its quite long, and I just could bear to look at it, much less finish it untill today, Christmas Day -2 days latter.

So if the writing is a little odd, its becuase I wrote it on 2 differnet days, so obviously the perspective will be a little differnt.

so lets get on with the show.

Well, this Friday before Christmas turned into an interesting day. At my job at the front desk of the Crowne Plaza, there have been insane situations, moronic nightmares I’ve been cast into, and today, well,,, what happened today is definitely going in the book under my hotel horror stories.

I was on Work 11am-7pm. being the Holidays, we were only at 38%, and at most we had 15 arrivals; A very slow night in which I was hoping on working on my comic throughout. From the start of my shift, I was told that the electricians were doing some maintenance in the electric room, and at some point, the lights would dim for 10 minutes, but outside of that nothing else would occur and everything would run the way it always did.

2:20pm – my other Co-worker Terrence left, Happy Holidays Terrence – At this point the lights didn’t dim.

2:30pm – Angela the General Manager leaves, Happy Holidays Angela – At this point the lights didn’t dim yet.

2:40pm – The Shit hits the Fan

I’m by myself, and I start sketching some new comic strips, and then

I hear a Boom, a loud boom, it was more like an Explosion. It shook the whole desk, and ,,, well the lights did dim, only by Dim, I meant they completely turned off, as did the computers, the phones, and basically everything except the Fire Alarm, which was ringing its head off.

Then a flock of housekeepers run out of housekeeping, which is located kind of behind the front desk. They were all screaming in Spanish, and some were even crying.

(FYI) – the electric room was kind of in Housekeeping.

The Desk is useless because there is no power, and I can’t print out any reports or anything for that matter. Then one of the engineers runs back into housekeeping.

While logic would say that when a fire alarm goes off, you should react as if their was a fire. Only, thanks to blind people, and numerous Asian tour groups, the fire alarm going off was a regular occurrence. So I didn’t expect the worse, as I probably should have.

The Engineer, Ceaser, (who’s been at the hotel as long as I have) ran back into the lobby. He started screaming something in Spanish at me over and over. I had no clue what he was saying, then he realized, he was speaking Spanish to me, (he got caught up in the chaos and was kind of panicking.) So then he spoke English and

In English, he screamed, “RJ GET OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Then a housekeeper runs out screaming, FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running from the housekeeping office, RIGHT IN BACK OF THE FRONT FEAKING DESK., screaming FIRE

Even I can put 2 and 2 together.

I grabbed my backpack (with my $2000 + worth of tech in it) and the Registration Card Holders (we call the bucket which is the most important thing to save in the event of the fire, because it’s the hotels current physical inventory with credit card imprints, signatures, etc)

So my ass bolted out of that Desk. In my 5 years working there I have never had to evacuate that desk, Until Now that is. I ran around the back office and by the time I got into the lobby, the whole place was filling with Smoke. You couldn’t even see in the lobby it was getting that bad. I ran outside with my hands filled and joined the rest of the staff who was already waiting outside.

Very few guests were there at the time, so evacuating the place wasn’t a problem.

The fire alarm more or less did that. (although one guest did sleep thru the whole thing)

10 fire trucks total showed up (all different shapes and sizes) – trucks from Clark, Cranford, Westfield, and Rahway showed up and two ambulances as well. Of course there were many cop cars as well, and much to my disappointment, The Winfield cop did not show up.

Anyways, It turns out that the electricians

“were not careful enough”
and
”didn’t know what they were doing”

And when dealing with a circuit board, they didn’t seem to comprehend that when they don’t shut off the power, its not the best idea to use a Screw Driver with NO RUBBER on it to play around with the switch gear (the first thing the electricity comes to when it enters the building). So it exploded, caused an Electrical Fire (which is a hell of a lot worse then a regular fire), and badly burnt/shocked the shit out of the two electricians who didn’t know what they were doing. I didn’t see them, but I heard
“They were banged up a little bit”
And the much more crowd pleasing
“YO this one dude had like the skin on his arm all melted off and shit”

I think it was probably somewhere more in the middle of those, but they did get taken to Rahway Hospital, so no matter how severe the injuries were, I doubt they’ll survive the night.

The fire fighters had to chop down doors, and demolish ceiling tiles, because an electrical fire can spread anywhere. So they had to check all the ceilings and shit. We were waiting outside for 3 hours. During our time in the outdoors, Pietro, my other desk co-worker came in for his 3 pm shift (let’s not forget he was his usual 20-minutes late), I quickly explained to him the situation.

Then I used my cell and called my manager Jessica. Jessica had actually had the day off, but really, How often can you call your boss and say your job is on fire. She didn’t believe me at first, but I put her on with a few other employees and she wised up, and eventually showed up to help.

Overall, the fire wasn’t that bad, it was a minor electrical fire (that thankfully) didn’t spread, and really did no more damage then just the destroying the switchgear.

So you would think the night would be over. Oh, so not the case.

That little fire, knocked out all the power. And due to so much red tape, and town/county regulations.

The hotel had to be closed down until

a. We can get the power back on.
b. We can have a full inspection, THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

(update – 2 days later, Power won’t be back up till Tuesday)

It was also decreed that no one is allowed to stay overnight in the hotel, and for the first time in over 30 years, The Hotel IS CLOSED until Tuesday

While some departments like the restaurant and housekeeping are literally closed and have no work, The Front Desk unfortunately gets screwed over the most.

Because we have 2 concerns now

1. Guests who are already in house and we now have to find other accommodations for them elsewhere.
2. Guests who have reservations and are set to arrive.

Phones and Computers are down, so we didn’t have names, we didnt have numbers, and the only shift report we had was 8 hours old, which in this business equates to toilet paper.

Its dark out by this time, There are no lights, no heat, no electric doors, so what does that create

Me and a couple of co-workers sitting all night in the Dark, the cold freezing dark wrapped in blankets stolen from housekeeping with a flashlight in each hand, just sitting in the lobby (which looks more like a horror movie set at the moment) waiting for cars to pull up to a pitch black building with 2 options.

Using our cell phones, (which will have a large bill this month) we called the Homewood Suites in Cranford, and thankfully they had plenty of rooms, and they would match rates. They told us to just send them over, and that did throughout the night.

But the 2 options.

1. If they were already staying, we had to tell them the situation, and then help them to their rooms to pack their belongings, and more or less move them out to the Homewood. Some did have cars, but quite a few didn’t so we had to shuttle them over in our hotel van. Another problem with that was even though we were at low occupancy, of course everyone had to be on the 5th and 6th floor which was a scary concept without the aid of elevators. So our fire escapes saw much action that night.
2. For guests arriving, it was easier because for the most part, they had cars, with their luggage already packed. It was just a matter of getting names, number of nights, and rate information so when the computers come back on we can sort this all out. And of course we directed them to the Homewood.

For the most part, most of the people were very understanding, I mean what else could we do?

Some people were upset, and one person was full of shit. He claimed he had a rate of $40 for 2 rooms which complete bullshit, we don’t have rates like that, but I couldn’t prove or disprove his claim with the computers down, so I told him we would reimburse him the difference, what ever that may be.

And a lot of people had prepaid reservations, so we had to give them walk letters so the Homewood could charge us.

So that was my day/night/morning

Evacuating the Desk
Escaping from Smoke
Standing in the Cold Outside
Sitting in the Cold Inside
Making my way thru the dark pitch black hotel
Hiking down 6 flights of stairs with 90-pound luggage
Driving fat Jewish people 1-mile

I was only due on 11am-7pm, but the guy who normally does the overnight 11pm-7am is a complete idiot who obviously cannot deal with this situation, so I ended up staying until 2 fucking am in the morning.

Then I had both Saturday and Sunday off for the holiday.

Its Sunday now, and I stopped by to see how things were.

We won’t reopen till Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday depending on the inspection.

The hotel is still closed, but the employees yesterday and today have it a lot easier.

All the in-house guests are gone, so they just have to worry about arrivals.

And they purchased mini gas powered generators so they were able to get 2 lights up, one computer up (which has already been updated and corrected for the most part), a portable heater, and they got the TV in the lobby working, so they have heat, entertainment, more information about the arrivals, and limited lighting.

Better then I had it anyway.

But still, even though most of the reservations have been corrected, the Billing aspect will be a nightmare, and oh great, my next day at work is Tuesday. When the phones can start ringing again.

Ewww, this has been one for the books.

On the bright side, the sirens and lights on the fire trucks were kind of festive.

1:48AM - My Final Ad Project

For my Final Ad project, we had to make a Campaign.

Normally this would be an easy assignment, but I waited till the morning it was due to do it. Not bad for 2 hours of rushed work.

I opted to make an Ad campaign for the Armed Forces.

My only regret was that I couldn't find a funny pic for the Navy One. I loved my caption, but I just couldn't find any other visual in time.

oh well.

5:12PM - BEHOLD, NIGGS AND ALL HIS BLING BLING

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

this took forever to do. Its a good thing all his bling gets jacked in the next act.

4:16AM - Schmuck Attacks

Here are 3 panels showcasing Schmucks special ability

His dreaded Penny Toss of Death

The only downside was with the motion blur, the penny doesn't look too much like a penny. Maybe I'll touch it up in Panel #2 so people can see what it is before its thrown.

Schmuck will use his attack once again in Act #2, and in Act 6, he takes out his whole roll of pennies and goes on a fifty cent massacre

I also offically added to his design a Star of David Pendent. I wanted something realativly easy to do, and I think it will sufice. I tried dirtying him up, but unfortunetly, with my particular coloring style, it just doesn't work. I'm going to try in future strips maybe drawing him with holy cloths and dirt clumps, but oil and greese stains just don't work.

3:15AM - Proving that dignity no longer exists

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Penciled, scanned, colored, shaded all during my 8 hours at work tonight. Or at this hour, was it yesturday, oh well

I drew this from an Angle, it was like clockwise 40 degrees, and at that Angle, Beths head looked fine but the rest of the picture looked kind of off, so I straightened it and while the rest of it looked better, Beths head oddness is much more apparent. Its too thin, which I blame the orignal angle becuase I played around with her hair and it created some freaky optical illusion. I may try to change it, but the effort that would take might not be worth it in the end.

I would love to see Beths face when she see's this though.
